  1. CCRES microponds represent the leading Croatian research facility for the outdoor production of algae. Our individual microponds provide an invaluable research tool for optimizing the growth parameters of our strains of algae prior to scaling up to larger ponds. The microponds have fully automated harvest and nutrient feed controls with instrumentation for monitoring growth parameters. These ponds are the first step in introducing our lab cultures to the outdoors prior to moving to the production ponds.
    Algae cultivation begins in four 50 square meter inoculation ponds. The inoculation ponds provide an intermediate steps to produces enough algae culture to inoculate or seed in the production ponds.

  2. While many crops are limited to a single, short lived grow season, needing months to mature, algae reproduce quickly,delivering product ready for harvest on daily basis. That means we deliver fresh product as it’s needed.
    Studies have shown that animals that consume consistent, high quality food sources grow at a healthy rate and contain better overall nutrition, providing higher quality food for humans. Domesticated animals need high quality food to become happy, healthy, longtime companions.

  3. CCRES Project Description

    CCRES will demonstrate a process for capturing and reusing CO2 generated from a small, industrial coal-powered source by using algae grown in an open pond system.
    This will contribute to our goal of reducing dependence on foreign-sourced energy fuels while also reducing industrial emissions of CO2 which contribute to climate change and other ecological problems.

  4. Worldwide carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from human activity have reached 33 billion tons annually. The use of new technologies for the capture, separation, and reuse of CO2 will reduce the effect of industrial activity on global climate. Croatian Center of Renewable Energy Sources (CCRES)
    actively seeks to encourage the development of practical technologies to capture and convert CO2 into beneficial products without adversely influencing energy use or hindering economic growth.
    One such promising technology is the use of CO2 to promote the growth of algae that can be used to produce biofuels. During photosynthesis, algae and other photosynthetic organisms capture CO2 and sunlight and convert it into oxygen and biomass. Up to 99 percent of the carbon dioxide in solution can be converted in large-scale open-pond systems. Croatian Center of Renewable Energy Sources (CCRES) want to advance the emerging algae biofuels industry.

  5. Spirulina provides the body with the proper nutrients it needs so it can heal itself. The human body is perfectly capable of healing itself if it is provided with the necessary vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutrients it needs. Spirulina contains more bio-chelated organic iron than any other whole-food. Bio-chelated means that the iron will easily be assimilated into the body. It is rich in raw protein. Spirulina is a single celled blue green algae that contains 10 vitamins, 8 #minerals, and 18 amino acids (essential and non-essential). It contains a complete #protein of 65-71%, that is 12-15 times more protein than steak and is 5 times easier to digest than meat or soy protein. Spirulina has 58 times the iron of raw spinach and 28 times that of raw beef liver. It contains more beta-carotene than any other whole food. Beta-carotene determines how our cells communicate with one another.

    Its minerals and vitamins are naturally bio-chelated, meaning they are wrapped in amino-acids for excellent assimilation by the body. It contains over 100 synergistic nutrients and is nature’s richest and most complete source of total organic nutrition.
